The Kegel Centre of Excellence program
The Kegel Centre of Excellence certification will
be awarded to Bowling Centres that:
- provide high quality, consistent and fair lane conditions to
their bowlers.
- provide high quality training for their lane technicians.
- provide a variety of lane conditions as requested or required
at any time. This is advantageous to bowlers practicing for league
or tournaments.
- remain loyal to the Kegel range of specialty lane maintenance
products.
The major keys to fair and playable lane conditions
include:
- the use of a lane conditioning machine that is well tuned
and maintained
- the use of lane conditioners and cleaners that are formulated
for the purpose
- lanes that are within the mechanical tolerances as laid down
by the various sanctioning authorities
- lane conditions which allow a variety of "shots"
- properly trained and knowledgeable staff
- suitable atmospheric conditions within the centre (temperature,
humidity and airflow)

To qualify as a Kegel Centre of Excellence, a bowling centre
must:
- Exclusively use a Kegel lane conditioning machine
- Keep the Kegel lane conditioning machine properly maintained
and well tuned
- Provide staff with proper training in the operation and maintenance
of the lane conditioning machine
- Use only Kegel lane conditioners, lane cleaners, consumable
products and spare parts
- Stock and display the full range of Kegel pro-shop products
- Purchase Kegel products and parts from the authorised Australian
Kegel distributor (tenpintec)
- Maintain the bowling lanes in a condition that passes the standards
of the official sanctioning body
